Bread & Belonging: A Formation Leaders Retreat

Bread & Belonging: A Formation Leaders Retreat

Join formation leaders across the Diocese of North Carolina for an overnight retreat of prayer, rest and play. We’ll pray with our whole bodies, rest and delight in God’s word, and imagine new possibilities for building relationships across generations. You’ll leave with practical ideas, peer connections–and bread dough to bake off at home! Durham-based baker and writer Kendall Vanderslice will lead our hands-on Saturday program to help us connect the rhythms of bread-breaking to the rhythms of liturgy.

This retreat is especially designed for formation leaders who minister with children, youth and families, but all are welcome.

Space is limited, and registration will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 24. We will maintain a waiting list if the retreat reaches capacity.

A $25 deposit holds your space. We will provide:

  • Friday dinner
  • Saturday breakfast and lunch
  • Private overnight accommodations with parking
  • All materials

Financial support is available. Please contact the Rev. Kelly Ryan, canon missioner for discipleship, to request a scholarship or raise any questions.

The overnight accommodations will be 0.5 miles away at Hyatt Place Greensboro Downtown, 300 N Eugene St., Greensboro. We will make your reservation for you.

Cancellation Policy

This retreat is an investment in you and your ministry. Thanks to a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., the costs of your hotel room, Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch, and program are covered. A $25 deposit to hold your place covers a portion of your materials and signals your commitment to attend the program in its entirety.

We will refund your $25 deposit if you cancel by September 18.

Please support your fellow formation leaders by letting us know if your plans change so we might invite someone on the waitlist to attend.

Please note: This registration form cannot be saved and finished later so collect all of the information you need before beginning.
