Claude Snow Appointed New Chair of the Historic Properties Commission
The Diocese of North Carolina announces that the Rt. Rev. Sam Rodman has appointed Claude Snow the new chair of the diocesan Historic Properties Commission.
The Historic Properties Commission was created in 1997 (Diocesan Canon 45) for the oversight of historic churches, cemeteries and other historic diocesan properties not occupied, used or maintained by parish and missional congregations. The commission promotes and encourages the historic preservation of those properties, and members are named by the bishop.
Snow is a current member of the commission and a member of Chapel of the Cross, Chapel Hill. He succeeds Robert Boykin, member of St. Timothy's, Wilson, who served as chair for the past six years. Members of the Historic Properties Commisson honored and thanked Boykin for his years of service as chair at the committee's May meeting.
Snow's tenure began in early June.
