MARVELOUSLY MADE
The Swindell Speakers Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina has been working on a Bible study focusing on people and relationships that fall outside the usual binaries of gender and sexual identity.
Queer is one word that describes these identities and viewpoints that come from the LGBTQI+ community.
We hope to illuminate scripture that tells stories of the rich variety of people and relationships that form a part of the great story, stories in which queer community can and does see themselves.
In retelling these stories, we re-examined the text without assuming straightness or strict gender definitions on the part of any of the people in the story and leaned into the possibilities we discovered through that approach.

About the Swindell Committee
The Swindell Committee is a forward-looking group that examines the world and the Gospel to identify the next steps for the church in sharing the good news of God in Christ.
