SUMMARY:Mission Resource Support (MRST) Clergy Salary Support Grant Applications Due
DESCRIPTION:The relationship between congregations requesting assistance and the Missionary Resource Support Team (MRST) can best be described as a covenant. Each congregation and the MRST pledge themselves to mutual expectations. As a committee\, we pledge to respond to your application with prayerful and thorough consideration. Our expectations of your congregation are listed below. \nMRST offers two grants. The MRST salary support grant supports clergy salaries through the annual diocesan budget. That application is due in the spring and disburses the following calendar year. \nMRST Clergy Salary Grants: These grants apply only to clergy salary and benefits\, and may not be used for other purposes. \nTo be eligible for a MRST clergy salary grant\, your congregation must: \n\nHave an Average Sunday Attendance (ASA) or 150 or fewer.\nAccept your 2020 diocesan asking and pay it in a timely manner.\nHave a completed 2019 audit on file in the diocesan office.\nOffer compensation to your vicar at a level no less than the diocesan minimum. The current annual minimum for a full- time priest living in his/her own housing is $64\,614.\nHave completed a Mutual Ministry Review for 2019 and sent your report to the bishop.\nNotify MRST of significant financial or clergy changes during the year.\n\nOnly applications that are received on time will be considered. Applicants for the MRST Salary Support Grant must be present for interviews on as date to be determined. \nApplication requirements are as follows: \n1) Complete the Common Application\, as well as the Budget Worksheet.\n2) Attach the financial page of the parochial report for 2019.\n3) Attach a copy of your congregation’s treasurer’s report for the year ending 2019.\n4) Attach a copy of your 2020 budget as approved by your vestry.\n5) Identify and explain any undesignated funds remaining from 2019 that total more than $5\,000.\n6) Identify and explain any endowment funds\, both designated and undesignated.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Dismantling Racism: Reclaiming our Baptismal Promise
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, 5-8 p.m.\, and Saturday\, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. \nRacial healing and reconciliation are fundamental to our ongoing spiritual formation. Please join us for this interactive workshop designed to deepen our spiritual commitment to dismantle racism as participants in the Jesus movement. \nThrough presentations\, prayer\, story sharing\, videos and small group discussions\, we will explore how the sin of racism impacts all of our lives. We will ground our work together biblically and sacramentally by renewing our Baptismal vows—to seek and serve Christ in all persons and respect all human beings’ dignity. \nThis workshop is one step in our ongoing and sustained journey to become Beloved Community. \n \n Register

\nThis workshop is one step in our ongoing and sustained journey to become Beloved Community.\n \n Register

SUMMARY:Green Grant Applications Due
DESCRIPTION:APPLY FOR A GREEN GRANT \nThe Green Grants Program of the North Carolina Episcopal Church Foundation is a special incentive designed to help congregations make improvements to their physical plant that will conserve natural resources\, reduce energy consumption\, and shrink their carbon footprint. The program is intended to encourage congregational efforts to be faithful stewards of the earth God has created. Green Grants are limited to one $5\,000 grant per congregation every two years. \nAny parish or mission congregation in the Diocese of North Carolina is eligible to apply for a Green Grant. The Foundation will give preference to congregations where its support can make a material difference to the success of the proposed “green” project. \nIn order to ensure the widest possible congregational participation in the Green Grants program\, incumbent Green Grant recipients must wait a full year before applying to the program again. \nThe Green Grant Program will consider applications for any improvement that can be demonstrated to: \n\nReduce the consumption of energy and other natural resources required for the operation of a congregation’s facilities. Examples include new insulation\, more energy-efficient heating and cooling systems\, new doors or windows\, more efficient plumbing fixtures\, and landscaping that reduces heating or cooling costs.\nCorrect a problem in a congregational facility that is contributing to environmental degradation. Examples could include landscaping to reduce run-off and repairing damaged septic systems.\n\nPlease note: Green Grants are not intended to supplement or replace a congregation’s deferred maintenance budget. \nIn reviewing Green Grants applications\, the Foundation will expect to see evidence that each applicant congregation is taking steps to address deferred maintainance with its own resources. \nApplications should be submitted to the Rev. Brad Mullis\, chair of the North Carolina Episcopal Church Foundation. \nThe Foundation will consider applications quarterly. \n\n\n\nGrants received by:\nFebruary 1\nMay 1\nAugust 1\nNovember 1\nWill be considered in:\nMarch\nJune\nSeptember\nDecember
