Diocesan Book Read: Church Hurt:
Diocesan Book Read: Church Hurt: Reparations for My Soul: Healing Racialized Trauma
By The Rev. Gayle Fisher-Stewart
When: Thursdays, February 19-March 26 | Six Weeks
Time: 12:00 – 1:00 PM, via Zoom
Dates: February 19, 26, March 5, 12, 19, 26
The Subcommittee on Race and Social Justice of the Chartered Committee for Lifelong Formation invites you to join us for 6 weeks (February 19, 26, March 5, 12, 19, 26) for another Diocesan-wide book reading and lunchtime discussion! We’ll meet on Zoom from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
As more and more faith communities deal with the effects of anti-Black racism, a racialized society, and are figuring out how to repair the spiritual, emotional, and physical damage that affects generations of their people, are these communities prepared to do the hard work of reparations and deal with the accompanying backlash those efforts will invite? Do our churches want to become trauma informed?
There is no cost to attend this event. We recommend that you purchase the book from your preferred book retailer.
Registration is required.
