Maria joined the diocesan staff in April 2013. Her responsibilities include all aspects of finance for the diocese, including the budget, common trust fund, health and retiree benefits and the general administration of the diocese. She also serves as the treasurer of the North Carolina Church Foundation. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a major in accounting and received her CPA. Shortly after, she attended Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, graduating with her Master’s in Business Administration. Prior to working with the Diocese, she worked in public accounting and as an adjunct professor at Franklin University, where she enjoyed teaching students of all ages.
Maria has been married to Jim, her college sweetheart from OSU, for 25 years. She is the mom of three girls, two of whom are twins, and couldn’t imagine life without them. They are a constant joy. When not at work she enjoys being with her family and friends. Maria loves relaxing at Lake Gaston, kayaking/paddle boarding, reading and walking her goldendoodles, Ginger and Penny.
how to donate
To donate by check, please mail to:
The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina
PO Box 896491
Charlotte, NC 28289-6491
When you donate to the diocese, you have several funds to which you may choose to direct your donations. (If donating by check, please be sure to specify your choice in the memo line.)
General fund: This option contributes to a fund that is, in turn, distributed by the diocese to churches and missions as needed.
Ordination: These funds are used by newly ordained priests, many times for new vestments or to establish discretionary funds at their new churches.
Pilgrimages: Pilgrimages are part of the diocesan mission strategy in support of the racial reckoning, justice and healing priority. This fund helps support their realization, as well as building collaborative relationships with other dioceses.
Bishop Discretionary Fund: Discretionary funds are distributed by the bishops for charitable uses as they see fit. Most of the funds are distributed annually.
ADDITIONAL GIVING
We are often asked in the wake of natural disasters how to help those affected. In most cases, we encourage supporting the work of Episcopal Relief & Development and their myriad relief programs, including hurricane relief, U.S. Disaster Relief, global missions, clean water and more.
